CBT is a talking therapy that can help you manage your problems by changing the way you think and behave.
The aim of this therapy is to break your problems down into small segments to make them easier to manage.
Together we will examine any negative thought patterns with a view to adapting them and turning them into a positive. CBT looks at the present in order to change the future.
You will be expected to take an active role in your treatment and may well be expected to carry out tasks at home.
Strategies may include: keeping a diary, role playing, relaxation technique and mental distractions.
